Song of the Week 1: “Treacherous” LAZER DIM 700

This week’s highlight song is “Treacherous” by Atlanta rapper LAZER DIM 700. Much like the title, this song is a mess of 808s, earbud-mic tier vocals and off beat flow, but for some reason it really just works.

It’s loud and dissonant, clearly taking heavy inspiration from the current rage rap wave, but in my opinion has a much more home grown charm to it. The roughness sounds authentic, the poor mixing elevates the final product.

Right Now LAZER DIM 700 is growing rapidly on streaming sites and I anticipate he will be an artist to watch in the near future, every release is quality and his artistic vision has remained constant. Of all '“rage” rappers he seems the most compelling.
